The JPT at Hiker Online - Hiking and Outdoors

Starting today, our Jerusalem Pilgrimage Trail website can also be found on our dutch online platform Hiker Online. Hiker Online is a Christian ‘Hiking & Outdoors’ initiative for men. The philosophy behind it is expressed in our logo: we view our lives as a walk with God and with one another. For us, hiking is therefore an activity where everyone is welcome. Our hikes are special every time, thanks to the challenge, the surroundings, and the encounters with one another!

Meeting each other, walking together, enjoying nature, and having fun conversations. That is what we do at Hiker Online. Because we organize various walks, everyone can join in, even those with less hiking experience.

The Jerusalem Pilgrimage Trail is a long-distance hiking trail forming a loop between the heart of Europe and the Israeli capital, Jerusalem. The route runs through 23 countries and utilizes (sections of) 39 existing long-distance paths by connecting them. This allows pilgrims, hiking-enthusiasts and travelers from all over Europe to walk to Jerusalem and back. 

You can begin anywhere and follow the route via GPX using a mobile hiking map and device.

The development of the trail is a Christian initiative and started initially from a desire to travel by foot to this ancient Biblical city. According to the Bible Jerusalem is the City of the Great King (Matthew 5:35) and the birthplace of Christianity.

The journey to the Eternal City, Jerusalem, is one that can be made physically, but also one that can be made spiritually once a person decides to follow Jesus Christ.
